Wonderful. The North London pirate radio station has started up again. These bastards appear every six months or so and crash XFM’s frequency – and they’re a techno/drum n bass station, so I get woken up by some current indie chart happener overlaid with a thumping bass beat, interference, and some twat spouting rubbish of which I can only catch every fifth word. Ofcom raid them, they get their equipment confiscated, and then they reappear a few months down the line. This has been happening for about three years. Thing is, if they want to broadcast on FM, why not pick a station more in accordance to their own output to crash, rather than piss off all the indie kids who will go straight to Ofcom to report their reappearance?

Actually, I bet it’s these fuckers. (Bizarre thing to collate information on.)

Another reason to move to South London.

we probably have pirates in south london too. i wouldn’t know, though, as they don’t seem interested in crashing the radio 4 frequency. can’t imagine why ….

Just so long as it’s not these bastards, I think I could probably cope (for a while. Until I can afford a proper digital radio alarm clock).

So true. I’ve never heard a pirate station play anything other than terrible drum and bass. Weird innit.
