Damn

There’s nothing quite like seeing the names of your (formerly) local favourite bars in a national newspaper to know that things will never be the same again… (there goes the Boogaloo, Enterprise and Marathon). Though, even if it’s ruined – my birthday down the Enterprise, alright?

My biggest problem with that article is from the final paragraph:
“If they gatecrash Marathon it will stop being cool.”
Since when has going out been about finding somewhere ‘cool’, anyway? Surely the whole point, and what she wrote about in the penultimate paragraph, is finding somewhere you enjoy without feeling self-conscious (yay for the Enterprise!). Too much of London wankery revolves around being ‘cool’ and for some reason seems to involve paying £38 for a bottle of wine and Calum Best(?!!). All praise the existence of the comfy pub…
