Sorry, major spoiler alerts, hence the warning for certain people on holiday *ahem*
Well, I was going to have a little rant about the Italian deli on Lewis Grove after a tip off – absolutely incredible, and they definitely need bigger premises; East Dulwich would be proud to have it gracing its streets – but after watching tonight’s Doctor Who I’m dancing around the house like a child on E (numbers). The BBC press department had kind of let slip that the Master was coming back (typical; they guard these scripts like crazy and then the stoopid PR people put out a synopsis saying "oh yeah, and by the way we’re bringing back the Master and he’s John Simm and Saxon all in the same person and what do you mean we totally spoiled the plot twist?"). There’s nothing on TV that can beat this show – not only do they manage to get some fabulous guest actors (Derek Jacobi? I LOVE Derek Jacobi!) but they unfold the plots so carefully and beautifully – I was sat hunched up on the sofa going "Noooo, surely not… oh my god yes!" (please bear in mind that my living room is incredibly visible from the street). And how fabulous is John Simm? I know he’s playing the bad guy, the Doctor’s nemesis, but seeing him leap around the TARDIS I was all set to start cheering him on.
Geek note: betcha the Doctor et al gets back to the present day by fixing Jack’s time-watch-thing.
And I almost managed to get to the end without mentioning David Tennant and John Barrowman sharing a screen. Almost… I’m surprised my TV didn’t explode from sheer unadulterated squee.
