Fud

In the winter a young woman’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of food. It’s hibernation time, but without the actual sleeping. At the moment I’m cramming my face with many of the following goodnesses:

La Molisana ditali pasta and De Cecco fettucine egg pasta. The ditali makes the best macaroni cheese. I used to buy Abel and Cole’s organic stuff but this is far tastier.

Waitrose Seriously Smooth Vanilla Yoghurt. It might sound poncy and girly (it’s yoghurt, after all) but it’s just gorgeous. One day I’m going to make a fabulous crumble of some sorts and top it with this.

Chorizo. Particularly cooked in skinned tomatoes and eaten with pasta. Preferably the above.

The cinnamon ice cream I made on Tuesday that’s sitting in the freezer. Damn fine.

Shepherds pie.

And next week, I’m going to make the creamy beetroot dressing that was described in this week’s Abel and Cole newsletter. Finally, something to do with the bottle of cider vinegar that’s been sitting in the cupboard for the last three months.

    Do you use the Italian Deli mich?
    Went there the other week. Sooooo much nice stuff.

    That’s where the pasta and the chorizo comes from… I was so happy to find somewhere nearby that sells De Cecco pasta! Oliver’s in Muswell Hill used to sell it, then they stopped, then they shut, and then I moved.

    That deli does chilli-marinaded artichokes that are to DIE for. Seriously.
    And our local deli isn’t half bad when it comes to troughing – they stock Marine Ices – YESSSSSS!!!
