Some things really restore your faith in human nature. Before Christmas, a Spain-dwelling semi-distant relative of my parents sent a card to their old address. Unfortunately they got the address wrong. My parents used to live at 10 King Street, Drighlington (it’s OK, they’ve gone now) and it got delivered to a solicitors at 10-12 King Street, Bridlington.
Instead of chucking it in the bin, someone at that solicitors took the time to look up similar addresses taking clues from the envelope (I think the postcode was right), pop a little note inside the card, and send it on its way. And because of the powers of redirection, it made its way back to Spain.
